You are a beautiful individual with so much to offer the world. As you move through your day, take notice of what you are enjoying. What school subject speaks to you? What toys do you like to play with? What extracurricular activities call your spirit?
We are all individuals put on this earth to grow and thrive in a way that feels right for us. You might not like softball, or dance, or math. That is not only valid but important to acknowledge. As we learn more about ourselves in reference to our interactions with the outside world, we are able to see what really ignites a fire within us.
By learning what we do not like or do not enjoy, we are eliminating and offering space to what does speak to us, makes us feel good, smart, happy and joyful. You may not like math, but perhaps you love history. Of course, that does not mean that we do not have to show up for math class, study for tests, or do the homework. But what it does mean is that we are learning about ourselves and what our likes and dislikes are. Not one can dictate this to you.
If you enjoy history, how can you engage more with the information? What can you do to bring more insight, knowledge, and fun to what you know you like? As we continue learning about the subjects that speak to us, we become more and more empowered and intrigued.
The same holds true for activities. What do you like: team sports, individual sports, or silent activities? It is all about you. These are the things that make our hearts sing. When I was a child, I loved soccer. It really fueled me internally to be part of a team and to be competitive. Not everyone likes team sports. I encourage you to look at your day to day life and really examine what you are enjoying. If there are things that you have to do that you do not really like, well, unfortunately, that is part of life. But if there are things that you are a part of that you do not enjoy and do not have to do, wouldn’t it be a good idea to speak up and make a change for yourself?
Learning about you is one of the most exciting parts of your life! Embrace it, share it and connect with it every chance you get! There is only one you in this world.
